Diet plan is necessary for diabetics. Generally diabetes diet plan is based on age, physical status and nature of diabetes. In breakfast include half cup skim milk, half banana, half cup oatmeal, one slice of wheat bread with one teaspoon margarine and ¼ cup cottage cheese or egg substitute. This is about 360 calories.
In lunch include one meat sandwich made up of two slices of whole wheat bread, one ounce of chicken or turkey, one ounce low-fat cheese and one teaspoon mayonnaise, one cup vegetable soup and one small fruit like apple. This is about 535 calories.
In dinner include 2/3 cup cooked brown rice, ½ cup cooked carrots, four ounces broiled chicken, one small whole grain dinner roll, tossed salad with low-fat dressing and one small angel food cake. This is about 635 calories.
In snacks include half cup artificially sweetened chocolate pudding, one small fruit, 16 fat0free tortilla chips and three cup popcorn. This is about 60 calories.
From above sample plan you can say that diabetes diet meal plan is not only eating healthy food but it is also planning of healthy eating at right time considering calorie intake. You can eat variety of foods but only thing you have to consider is the total daily calorie intake.
